Obituaries

Sonja was born in Berlin in 1928.  She emigrated to the United States in 1952, to White Lake, Michigan, with her son Jerry. She moved to Toledo and met Wally in 1965 and were together until his death in 1995.  Sonja moved back to Michigan in 1999 and was actively involved in PFLAG and Dignity Detroit.  You could count on her smiling face and a kind words to greet you. Her favorite thing was to meet new people and welcome them. She lived on her own until recently. She will be remembered for her kindness, quick wit and great sense of humor. She will be cremated and a memorial mass will be held at a later date.
